UPDATE (2/29/12): Dil has been diagnosed as a dwarf kitten — a rare but not unprecedented genetic condition.  Although small in size he can do anything his siblings can do.  However, his long-term prognosis is uncertain, and we, along with our vet, continue to watch over Dil carefully…

Dil Pickles is half the size of his siblings and very underdeveloped. He is the THIRD generation to a brother and sister cat that were left unfixed to mate over and over. We are worried about Dil, even though he is gaining weight and has a great attitude. Donations are being accepted for an extensive check up with one of our favorite vets…Dr. John at Tri County Veterinary in Pilesgrove Twp., NJ.

Have you upgraded your cell phone recently and are wondering what to do with your old one?  Donate it to Furrever Friends. In addition to putting an old phone to good use, you’ll be helping to support the animals in Furrever Friends’ care.

We accept any type of cell phone, working or non-working, regardless of age, make or service provider.  Donated phones will either be refurbished and resold, donated to a charity such as a women’s shelter or support organization for deployed troops, or recycled.  Any personal information (address books, photos, texts) will be securely deleted.  And because we are a registered non-profit, your donation is tax-deductible.

You can bring cell phones to the Deptford PetSmart Adoption Center during operating hours (10-9 most weekdays and Saturdays, 11-6 Sundays). Or, call 856-845-8554 or email info@furreverfriends.org for more information. Please remove SIM cards or removable memory from phones prior to donation.

Having your best friend’s picture taken with Old Saint Nick makes for a terrific keepsake or gift.  Once again, Furrever Friends is partnering with PetSmart to offer pet photos with Santa on the weekends of Dec. 11-12 and 18-19.

Santa will be at the Deptford (NJ) PetSmart (in the Deptford Landing Shopping Center off Clements Bridge Road and Rt. 42, by Sam’s Club, hh gregg, OfficeMax and Wal-Mart) from 10:30 to 4 Saturday and Sunday each weekend.  Photos are $9.95 each ($8.95 with a PetPerks card), and come with a seasonal frame.  No reservations are necessary, and all types of pets are welcome.  For more information, call the Deptford PetSmart at 856-848-2719.
