Austin

Domestic Short Hair Tabby

BIG PURR MONSTER!

Fostered in Woodbury, NJ

NEEDS SPONSORS

March 2012: Austin is currently suffering from thyroid disease and heart disease. His prognosis is grim...but we are keeping him comfortable for the time he has left with his foster mom. Any sponsors for his monthly vet visits and THREE medications is appreciated!

Austin is affectionate, playful and sweet. His cool half meow/half growl is very unique. But his unusual appearance and his health problems have prevented him for getting a home.

Austin suffered some physical and mental trauma while attempting to survive outside. First, his ears are deformed due to multiple injuries. He is also FIV+, which means his health has to be watched a bit more closely. He was diagnosed with a thyroid condition in 2/08, so he needs daily medication.

But what a love he is, and what a wonderful friend he would be!

HISTORY: Austin was caught in a humane trap in a condo complex in February 2007. Skinny and barely surviving outside, he was brought into our program just days before a horrible cold snap.

FAVORITE TOYS: Catnip filled socks and the "ball in the track" (which he loves to play WITH you).

DISLIKES: Being picked up.

LIKES: Much petting, being played with and talked to, eating cat treats, being brushed and sleeping on top of you! Also loves to walk on a harness thru the yard and roll in dirt!
